It is Pakistan's biggest,most oldest salt mine and world's second largest.Khewra salt mines are 154 kms far from Rawalpindi. The track is Mandra-Dudyal-Chakwal-Bhaun-Choa Saidan Shah-Khewra. a extended track  is through Kallar Kahar-Katas.It is a major vacation spot, attracting up to 250,000 guests a year. Its history goes to its disclosure by Alexander's troops in 320 BC, however it began exchanging the Mughal time.
